When inquired as to why she named me Kristen, my mom will ordinarily say that she ââ¬Å"likes the E-N. It seems like a solid personââ¬â¢s name, and a solid womanââ¬â¢s name.â⬠Iââ¬â¢m sure she didnââ¬â¢t pick my name or its unprecedented spelling gently. She prematurely delivered eight months into her past pregnancy, and my first snapshots of life spoke to our consolidated persistence. In spite of the fact that my mom and I had been a group since I had taken my first breath, conditions with my dad were in every case radically extraordinary. He mishandled me, and I didn't scrutinize his narcissism or his brutal censures. Rather, I resolved to satisfy him by performing agreeably and quietly in both school and sports. I was an ideal mannequin, presented and made, and totally phony. Terrified of discipline, I existed however didn't live. This changed when I was fifteen. Notwithstanding what others thought had happened, I was determined to have an undeniable instance of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in view of my fatherââ¬â¢s misuse. What Is Worth Fighting for?
Jordan Jackson Mrs. Bugg English351 2/15/13 Family Is Worth Fighting For How is family essential to you? Family is significant in light of the fact that they are our family, they bolster us in all that we do, they are consistently there to secure us, they are there to go to bat for us, they are consistently there for us , they will consistently be our relatives and they will consistently cherish us. So shouldnââ¬â¢t we battle for them? A few people make some hard memories in any event, beginning families all alone, a few families are experiencing money related hindrances, yet they will consistently be a family and they will consistently stick together.Family merits battling for. Families in the military make some hard memories receiving youngsters due to the steady moving around constantly whether it is in the states or in an alternate nation. Appropriation hasnââ¬â¢t been simple for those families in the military. ââ¬Å"The issue of migration is one of the serious issues our families have confronted when they are thinking about appropriation, ââ¬Å"confirms Al Smith. Families in the military likely have a family yet on the off chance that they need to receive a kid it is going be hard for them. Many individuals in the military donââ¬â¢t have the opportunity to really deliver kids on theyââ¬â¢re own so they need to embrace yet itââ¬â¢s hard. Al Smith began an establishment where individuals in the military can embrace kids without having any issues with voyaging. Families who experience budgetary challenges experience issues accommodating their family. Here and there they make some hard memories in any event, putting nourishment on the table. Families with a lot of kids make some hard memories supporting their family particularly if the guardians donââ¬â¢t have a decent paying job.In a few families the guardians donââ¬â¢t even have an occupation. Perhaps the greatest reason for budgetary issues is work misfortune. Some of the time one of t he kids or one of the guardians get exceptionally sick and paying for all the hospital expenses can put money related weight on a family. Now and again guardians must have more than one employment to accommodate theyââ¬â¢re family. In any event, when the children get mature enough to have an occupation they need to find a new line of work to help give cash to their folks to cover the tabs and to help put nourishment on the table. Families even need to experience destitution. Today the neediness rate in the U.S. is the most noteworthy itââ¬â¢s been in 17 years, influencing exactly 46 million individuals. The economy is the principle motivation behind why the neediness rate is so high. ( Struggling Families Lift Themselves Out Of Poverty. NPR. organization ) Families in neediness have only the others in their families to rely upon. Outsiders that come to America to begin another life probably begin with money related issues and they are in destitution. Maurice Lim Miller began a n establishment to help get families out of destitution. This establishment enables the guardians of this family to get back on their feet. They to enable the families to land positions, they feed the families, they house the families, they give the families garments to wear. This establishment has helped numerous families escape neediness. A few families experience aggressive behavior at home and the youngsters need to manage that for whatever length of time that the other parent is eager to manage the maltreatment. It influences everyone in the family whether they are getting mishandled or not. It influences the youngsters by observing and manage one of their folks or kin experiencing that misuse, and now and again the family needs to move away from the spot they experienced childhood in to another place. It influences the mother or father by not realizing how to manage the circumstance and regardless of whether they knew how they would need to move out of their home and leave the i ndividual that is the parent of their kids. Ladies that are associated with aggressive behavior at home need to go to abusive behavior at home asylums with theyââ¬â¢re youngsters. Aggressive behavior at home doesnââ¬â¢t must be really hitting the other individual, it could be removing the different personââ¬â¢s cash. Getting the cash far from the other individual can prevent that individual from taking care of tabs and accommodating theyââ¬â¢re family.Family memberââ¬â¢s that are experiencing misuse ought to have the option to go to theyââ¬â¢re other relatives for exhortation on the most proficient method to escape that circumstance or for a spot to remain to escape from that individual mishandling them. All in all families need to manage numerous sorts of things like neediness, aggressive behavior at home, experiencing difficulty embracing. Toward the day's end they are as yet a family and they need to push through whatever they are managing through and be there f or one another when they need it the most.Families need to make it step by step and manage issues that surface, love each other in any event, when they settle on wrong decisions, be there for the other relative when times get hard and be there for them through the great occasions. Appreciate the time we have with our family now since life is short. Family is significant, how are we ready to battle for them? The Standard Newspaper, Nairobi Provide Opinion Research - 1100 Words
The Standard Newspaper, Nairobi: Provide Opinion Research (Essay Sample) Content: Student Name: Instructor: Course/Number: Due Date: Persuasive Letter 25th January 2017. Ryan Kyle, Chief Editor, The Standard Newspaper, Nairobi. Dear Mr Ryan, To begin with, I would like to say that I am deeply humbled for the chance to provide my opinion pertaining to the issue of online schools. As of now, I have not yet completed my college studies, however, I still feel that I should be given the chance to present my opinion, since it not only affects me but also other students all over the country. As you had mentioned before, the state implemented the online school system, with a hope that it will provide not only cheaper but also fairer education to the students in rural and outlying regions. To the majority of the public, this initiative from the state is most certainly beneficial, mainly because many students will be able to access education without having to go to school. With that said, many individuals have been in support of the states initiative. Nevertheless, there are various opponents of the states program, who argue against the idea based on the notion that the students who learn through online mechanisms, as opposed to those who study in the traditional classrooms, will not develop various skill sets, such as social skills, which is a basic component of their education. In turn, they propose that the online school system should not be implemented wholly. Thusly, in my opinion, my position on this issue is support for the online school system, mainly because of the benefits that overshadow the drawbacks. Waters et al., (2014) mention that online school systems combine homeschooling and traditional practices with the online learning. According to the authors, students who enroll in online schools get better access to educational resources, as the main benefit. Tentatively, the authors suggest that there have been various challenges that have faced the traditional school system, for instance, budget cuts, higher tuition, shortages pertaining to courses among others, and these have led to students seeking alternatives as they hope to accomplish their educational goals. As such, these students and many more others in differing situations have the opportunity of continuing their education, regardless of not having to go to the physical classes. Because of this, I support the implementation of the online school system initiative by the state. In addition to that, I am also in support for the states initiative to implement an online school system in order to provide education to the students in rural and outlying regions. Consistent with Waters et al., (2014), the online school system will be effective for students in rural and outlying regions because it offers them fewer obstacles to learning, and it also supports open enrollment. To start with, students in rural regions face various challenges, such as transport to and from home, inadequate services and facilities and so on. Through the online school system, students from such regions will have fewer challenges to deal with, which will then make them more focused on their school work. Furthermore, the online school system will support open enrollment, therefore, the students in the rural regions will be able to enroll wherever and whenever they are able to. Intrinsically, Wagner and Milena (2008) assert that the online school system also has its implications that should be considered. For starters, Wagner and Milena mention that the online school system will diminish how students relate to one another because they will have virtual rather than personal relationships with each other. Given this, such students will not be able to socially interact with one another, as the authors suggest, and this will in turn impact how they perform not only in their academics, but also as they grow up. Because of this, the opponents of the initiative propose that the online school system should be limited to course materials and resources, other than full time schooling for students. In my opinion, the argument presented by the opponents of the states initiative seem to be valid enough, as supported by Wagner and Milena (2008). However, Bender and Jon (2006) mention that there is evidence that is contradictory regarding the rate of participation in traditional classes versus participation in online classes. According to Bender and Jon, the online school system will offer the more reticent and shy students, both in rural and urban regions, with the chance of participating in the online class discussions with more ease, as opposed to face-to-face sessions. Further on, the authors mention that it is easier for the students in the online school system to concentrate more on their courses since they will not be distracted by classroom activities and other students. Therefore, I would agree that the online school system should be implemented by the state, not only for the benefit of the students in the rural regions, but also to those who are reticent and shy in the tr aditional classrooms. Finally...

None Provided8 Essay Thesis Example For Students
None Provided8 Essay Thesis ââ¬Å"A company is only as good as the employees who work for It.â⬠Seems to be the slogandriving most employers in todayââ¬â¢s marketplace. Your employees are a direct reflection ofyour company and in many industries, may actually be considered the product. Finding theright employee can be one of the most crucial and difficult decisions a business can face. Businesses must be prepared for this process and understand the steps involved in hiring anew employee. When an employer makes the decision to hire a new employee, they mustfirst decide what advantages this employee will offer the company. The employee may beconsidered a producer, who would benefit the company by producing, creating, selling orsupporting the product. This employee would be responsible for direct profits for thecompany. He or she may also belong to the coordinator category of employees. Theseemployees are responsible for the productivity of producers by coordinating their taskswith those of other producers to gain the most cost effective solution. It must bedetermined if the efforts of a coordinator would benefit the producers in a specificcompany. A new employee may also offer your company the assistant qualities needed tofree up the time of a higher paid employee. An assistant can be very valuable to yourcompany by helping your executives become more efficient. Once the potential gains of anew employee are determined, the costs associated with this new staff member must bereviewed. The expenses of anew employee include salary, taxes, hiring costs, supervision, training and equipment. The employeeââ¬â¢s salary, wages and incentives must be taken intoconsideration. In addition, the company must pay taxes, administration and accountingfees for this person. The decision maker should take into consideration the hiring costsassociated with the employee, including recruiting, advertising, interviewing and selectinga new employee. The cost of supervision of the employee can be calculated using apercentage of the supervisorââ¬â¢s salary based on the projected amount of time the newemployee will require from a supervisor. Training costs can also be substantial, consistingof the direct and opportunity costs of other employees who would be involved in training. Equipment such as computers, desks, safety equipment and other technology would alsobe taken into account. After calculating, reviewing and analyzing the costs and benefits ofan employee, several things must still be considered before developing a conclusion. Ahuman resources or management decision maker should compare and analyze the effectthis employee would have on your cash flow. Realistic income projections can becompared to the initial and long-term costs of the employee. The fact that the employeemay not be fully productive until several months of work must be calculated into theprojections. For example, the person may take time to adjust to the position and handle afull workload, or you may not initially have enough work for the person to be working atfull capacity. The deciding parties must consider the relative value and determine if thegain would be more from a new employee as opposed to investing the same time, money, and resources in current employees or procedures. The d ecision to hire a new employee isvery important to the company as a whole, as well as, the individual making the decision. A poor choice can reflect the personal abilities and may indicate a decision-makingweakness to the personââ¬â¢s boss, colleagues, staff and customers. By making the decision tohire the person, they will be responsible for whether or not that person can do the job welland fit in with other members of the staff. The scene I have chosen to analyse is act 3 scene 5 Essay Example For Students
The scene I have chosen to analyse is act 3 scene 5 Essay The scene starts with Romeo leaving for Mantua. As he leaves Lady Capulet enters, she tells Juliet that Capulet has offered her hand in marriage to Paris. Then Capulet walks in with the nurse and reiterates what is wife had said. Juliet refuses to marry Paris and her father bursts out in rage. When the Scene concludes, we see Juliet feel isolated as everyone she has turned to has given her the same advice, marry Paris. The only person who can help her is Friar Laurence. During Shakespeare times, arranged marriages were very common, but as generations developed they found their own love and had to betray there own families. In modern audiences they may be struggling to see this as it is a regular practice to find your own love these days. Shakespeares audience know that it is a mortal sin to attempt marriage when you are already married. Shakespeares audience believe that if you do this you are sure to go to hell. We will write a custom essay on The scene I have chosen to analyse is act 3 scene 5 specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now This scene is very important to the context of the play because firstly the scene presents division between the older generation and the younger generation. We also learn the tensions between the older generation and the younger generation. We also learn the tensions between the parents and the children. Whats more we notice a dilemma between Juliet and her parents over marriage. He shall not make me there a joyful bride. This quote suggests to us that Parris will not make Juliet happy and it is Romeo she wants to marry. As the play proceeds Juliet shows us her reaction to Tybalts death, she uses it to cover up her emotions for Romeo. Yet let me weep for such a feeling loss. The tension increases as only the audience is aware of what she really means. Her loss is due to Romeos departure. Juliet is defiant and determined not to marry Paris. Her heart belongs to Romeo; she is already married to him. This use of dramatic irony creates suspense within the scene and involves the audience. The outrage by Capulet, her father increases the tension and highlights the disintegration of their relationship. Disobedient wretch! This outrage represents the generational difference and the obvious conflict between parent and child. As the scene draws to an end it shows the lose relationship between the nurse and Juliet and how that disappears. This scene has great significance to the play because it tells us what is going to happen next. We can foresee that Juliet has got to resolve this situation on her own. We find a lot out about the characters in this scene. Juliet shows us love and dedication towards Romeo God pardon him I do with all my heart. This quote is an aide quote it is said to the audience. Although she is pretending to be angry with Romeo we know she still loves him and has asked for his forgiveness. The technique of dramatic irony is used once again to build up tension throughout the scene. The audience anticipate conflict. Lady Capulet seems very concerned towards her daughters well being; she wants the best for her. Marry my child early next Thursday morn. But Lady Capulet finds she is becoming too rebellious she waits for her father to arrive. Here comes your father tell him so yourself; And see how he takes it at your hands. This quote highlights that Capulet will not take her refusal well. He shows the audience the dilemma Juliet is in and we are involved and feel her stress. Capulet is very caring for his daughter and has promised Paris, Juliets hand in marriage. When he hears her refusal, he gets annoyed and upset and then suddenly leashes out on her. We then see a side that we have never seen before. hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch! This sudden change in tone is dramatic and here the action of the scene creates fear and suspense in the audience. These insults continue. They are degrading and the word disobedient emphasises the conflict between the father and the daughter. Finally there is the nurse; this scene changes the audiences opinion towards her heavily. She has always seemed to understand Juliets problems and comprehend what matters to her. Only in this scene the nurse and Juliet are having different opinions over Juliets love. Romeo is banished; he dares neer come back I think its best you married the county Her advice comes after Capulets outburst and although it is obvious that the nurse cares, she is worried for Juliets future and urges her to obey her father for peaces sake. After receiving this advice Juliet is upset and disappointed. By the end of the scene she is alone and isolated. If all else fail myself have power to die. .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd , .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .postImageUrl , .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd , .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd:hover , .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd:visited , .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd:active { border:0!important; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd:active , .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ua97749bfd310146a133b55f5db30b6fd:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Relation of Drama to Literature EssayThis quote demonstrates her determination to be with Romeo. It also implies that if she has to die for him to be with him, she will. The setting for these characters and there dilemmas would be in Juliets bedroom with criss-crossed windows to emphasis the fact that she is almost in prison, and gives the impression that she has nowhere to go and no one to turn to. There would be a king size bed in the centre of the room giving the message that there is space for two people and she has to choose between Romeo and Paris. The colours I would add to their bedroom are bright pink with a hint of beige to show its a girls bedroom but to also show innocence. The paintings on the walls would show a girl in a tower being rescued by two people her true love and her arranged partner. This would be a mirror image of what is happening in the play and would add contrast from comic to reality. The character would have to be dressed appropriately to bring the issue of night and day into prospective. The costumes would tell us what time of the day it is, in this case night time. The appropriate clothing for Juliet would be an exquisite Elizabethan flowing dress to show that she is wealthy. Her hair should be long and loose like a shower of rain this being a metaphor of her tears. The nurse should be wearing an outfit to show that she is not one of the family maybe a set uniform, it would be very bright and it would be given to her from Capulet. As the nurse is talking to Juliet she would be brushing her hair. This would highlight her close relationship. I think that there should not be too much activity otherwise the focus of the storyline will get taken away. The nurses shoes should be very simple to show that the family is not spending much money towards her. Lady Capulet will be wearing a nightgown embedded with lots of gold detail and very high class slippers. I think it would be effective for her to be wearing glasses to show that she is very perceptive. Capulet would be wearing pyjamas with very low detail and they would be very dull and dreary to show contrast between himself and the nurse. He will have a lot of hair but a bald patch on the top centre back part of the scalp. My aim is to create as much reality as possible in just the costumes, but not to take the attention of the storyline and language away. There would be a lot facial expressions because they can be very effective and emotive towards the audience. As Romeo leaves for Mantua his expressions should be glum. Farewell, farewell. One kiss and Ill descend. At this point I also think that Romeo should be holding Juliets hand and then lift it up and kiss it. This enhances the audiences view to their love. Capulets anger towards Juliet is a striking moment to this scene. Speak not, reply not, do not answer me. This line is very important to the scene as it is his first step towards his aggression. My fingers itch As he says these lines his face should cringe with anger and disappointment he should also be gnashing his teeth and be pushing Juliet around. This action towards Juliet would show the audience a side tat we have never seen before but always expected. I think the most effective way of continuing this scene is by capturing a close up of Juliet and showing the tears rolling down her face as she says, Fie Fie, what are you mad! As she speaks this I think she should be seen on her knees begging her father not to send her away. Finally the nurse will be very cautious as to what she says to Juliet, I believe that throughout the scene she should be smiling trying to calm the situation down between Capulet and his daughter. God in heaven bless her. If she does this then there is a lot of contrast between herself and Capulet. This sort of action is most likely what makes the audience more anxious I would include a variety of sound effects one of them being a clock chiming this would illustrate to the audience that it is very late. I would then add, crickets croaking to show that there are moments of silence during the scene. There would be some sort of weather sound implement and I would use the wind whooshing to give a chilling effect towards the audience. In the background I would add a beat especially at nerve racking parts where Juliet speaks her monologue. This will show how her hearts pounds and I believe it would evoke the tension in the audience. The camera shots I would employ to add maximum effect for the audience would firstly be a two shot over the shoulder close up on Romeo speaks his important words. .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 , .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .postImageUrl , .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 , .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5:hover , .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5:visited , .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5:active { border:0!important; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5:active , .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5 .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ub6bcda2a8e13349a3199517add1c18b5:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Essay on A Dolls HouseFarewell! Loves in my eye so do you The camera would be focused on Juliet so we can see what her expressions would be and vice versa, as the scene progresses when Romeo leaves I would record a high angled long shot to show both Romeos and Juliets expressions for one another, it would also show the entire action-taking place. Dry sorrow drinks our blood. Adieu, adieu! As this line is said each of there expressions would be showing that they are sad because they are going to be parted from each other. The slay continues when Juliet and Lady Capulet are speaking to each other, there should be a medium wide shot this would show how they are reacting to what they say. As Juliets father speaks the line To go with Paris to Saint Peters church! I believe the most effective way of showing his anger in his eyes is to do a big close up of him then the camera should slowly zoom out to record a high angled shot so we can see all of there reactions towards him. When the nurse and Juliet speak to each other, I think the speed of the action should be a lot slower. Romeo is banished. As this quote is spoken a slow motion camera rolling effect should be applied, this would heighten the tension to show the nurse is thinking totally different to what Juliet is thinking. The lighting plays a key part throughout the scene. As Romeo is preparing to leave for Mantua I would put a red spotlight on both Juliet and her lover to illustrate there love for one another. As Romeo walks off the set the red spot will fade of him and a white spot will fade on Juliet and the Nurse as she hastily walks on the set. As Lady Capulet enters I would fade down the spots and brighten up the whole set so it is clearer to see the action. I would use a number of different filters and gels to apply colour and contrast against the scenery. As Capulet walks on, the back main lights should dim and the spot lights should appear on Juliet and Capulet. Disobedient wretch. At this quote there should be a complete blackout and the set should be filled with haze. Then a strobe light should flash to emphasis what is happening in slow motion allowing us to a part of the violence. The strobe should promptly stop when the nurse says her line, God heaven bless her. As this line is spoken the main lights should fade up this will relieve the some of the anxiety from the audience allowing them to take a breath before the next nail biting, nerve wracking scene starts. At the end of the scene I would have a blackout so it is easy for the characters to walk off the set without getting seen. Of course, language is the most effective device because it helps to keep the reality of the play. Since language is central to an understanding of Shakespeares intentions I would keep it Elizabethan. If it were filmed this way, the effect of the scene would be highly dramatic. With these features highlighted, the scene would be significant because it would stress the point that Capulet thinks he knows what upset his daughter, (tybalts death) but he is wrong. Lady Capulet knows as much as her husband (not a lot). Juliet knows about her marriage to Romeo but cannot explain the situation to her parents, although she doesnt know; until they tell her, about there plan to marry Paris. The nurse, at this point knows about Juliets secrets. Throughout the whole scene, Shakespeare carefully makes dramatic use of what people do or do not know. The key dramatic moment by a video camera using the slow motion effect and adding a blue strobe flashing at 10 FPS this would enhance the effect when Capulet starts to push Juliet around. The most significant word is, out on her hilding. Because this tells us that Capulet thinks his daughter is a useless person and we have not seen this verbal abuse from him till this point. In Shakespeares own time there was no lighting effects no special effects or scenery. In those days they based the reality of the play I the acting, facial expressions and the costumes. The impression might have been very different I the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the language may have been the same but the costumes would have been a lot more advanced. The scenery and action would be very different because it would be live on stage and there would be camera shots allowing you to see only the selected parts whereas live on stage you would see the whole thing. In conclusion I think my film version would be a lot easier to understand. I think it would have the same effect on different generations in the modern audience. The scene therefore would be a lot more advanced. Overall, my film version of the scene would be very successful.

Should I Hire Someone to Upload My Ebook or Do it Myself
Should I Hire Someone to Upload My Ebook or Do it Myself When Hope saw my Fiverr gig on uploading ebooks to ebookstores for $5 each, she asked me how I could do it so easily and so cheaply. Actually, uploading is the easiest part of self-publishing, and you probably already have everything you need. Heres what you should know to upload your ebook (varies à · à à à An account with the vendor (Amazon, iTunes Connect, Nook Press, Kobo, etc.) à · à à à Book title and subtitle (optional) à · à à à Series name and number (optional) à · à à à Author name(s) à · à à à Publisher (you can just use your name, e.g.: Amy Author Books) à · à à à Description (back cover blurb) à · à à à Book categories (you can find BISAC codes here; two to five categories, depending on the platform) à · à à à Age range (for childrens books) à · à à à Print length (optional) à · à à à Language its written in à · à à à ISBN-13 (optional) from Bowker in the U.S., plus the print ISBN-13 if there is a print version à · à à à Base Currency (yours - USD, CAN, GBP, EUR, AU, etc.) à · à à à Book price in your currency à · à à à Book price for other countries (either use their default at the exchange rate or change to end in .99) à · à à à Keywords (what the reader will search for to find your book) à · à à à Whether you want Digital Rights Management (DRM) à · à à à If its not in the public domain, verification that you have the rights to publish it à · à à à An ebook file (most will take .doc files, but an .epub looks better) à · à à à A cover (in .jpg or .png format) Once the client provides me with all of this information, its easy to just copy and paste. If a problem comes up, its usually in iBooks, related to the cover. The outside cover shown on the site needs to be a minimum of 1,400 pixels wide. However, the cover on the inside of the book must be smaller (no more than four million pixels). The same is true for all interior images. So, if its so easy to upload, why would anyone hire someone else to do it? Usually, its because they dont have access. For example, uploading to iBooks requires a Mac. If you dont have a Mac, you can use Mac in Cloud for a fee, go through an aggregator like Draft2Digital or Smashwords, or hire someone to do it for you. The learning curve for Mac in Cloud could be costly, and, if you go through an aggregator, you will be charged 10-15 percent of all sales you make. Thats why people will pay someone on Fiverr to upload to iBooks for them. It does require that you give a stranger your userid and password to your account, but if you find someone with good reviews, its not much of a risk, and you can always change your password immediately after they upload. Another reason people might hire someone else to upload their ebook is if they live outside the U.S. and want to publish their book on Nook Press. I understand its difficult, if not impossible. So, hiring someone to do it for a few bucks makes sense. I hope I took some of the mystery (and fear) out of uploading for you, and helped you make your decision whether to do it yourself or hire someone to do it for you. And, hey, if you need assistance, check out my Fiverr gig. Id be happy to help you.

Corporate governance in Adelphia Communications Corp., US Term Paper
Corporate governance in Adelphia Communications Corp., US - Term Paper Example In the United States, checks and balances prevent any branch from accumulating too much power, hence encouraging cooperation. According to Kroszner (Para. 9), good corporate governance requires strong executives with an independent mind. Moreover, the Sarbanes ââ¬âOxley Act of 2002 applies to all organizations and it entails the requirements for the governance of organizations. The Act requires that management of an organization should certify a companyââ¬â¢s financial reports and internal controls too. Despite the United States corporate governance being heavily criticized for the failure of some of major companies like Tyco and WorldCom, the country has improved on its Sarbanes ââ¬âOxley Act of 2002. The Sarbanesââ¬âOxley Act promotes accuracy and accessibility of information, whereby investors are required to reveal the companyââ¬â¢s transaction. The Act also involves penalties for those violating regulations; for instance, a maximum of 20 years in prison for fra ud rather than a five-year sentence. Corporate governance entails the controlling and directing of companies in a direction of fairness, accountability, and transparency. Below are checks and balances within the corporate governance of the United States. ... ct fosters the principle of accuracy and accessibility whereby, it requires the revealing of companyââ¬â¢s stock after the second day of transaction by its directors and principal investors. This fast revelation of the companyââ¬â¢s stock makes it easier for the outsiders interested in the company. Failure to abide by the laws of this Act; a person is liable to 20 years of imprisonment. This act is aimed at creating quality standards for corporate governance, which managers and auditors must abide by. Management accountability The Sarbanes ââ¬âOxley Act fosters management accountability, hence preventing issues of fraud and the blame game. A corporate fraud task force was established in 2002 with an aim of curbing fraud in organizations. Accordingly, the managing directors and officers must certify the accuracy of their companyââ¬â¢s financial reports. The Act requires a total of $1million for any officers who knowingly engage in false certification of financial reports. Auditor independence Auditors are limited to false and careless financial reports. However, this Act makes it difficult for managers to select and compensate an external auditor. The choice of an auditor is now made by the committee of independent directors who are not employees of the organization, hence being not related to the company. A new audit partner is required to be assigned to each client account. In addition, the government has formed the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, with an aim of monitoring and enforcing the supply of audit services. Moreover, accounting firms are required to register with the oversight board, submit their periodic performances, and abide to the rules and regulations of the board (Kroszner (Para. 20). The Sarbanes ââ¬âOxley Act ensures that rules are followed to the

Love vs Punishment Essay Example for Free
Love vs Punishment Essay In the article ââ¬Å"Justice: Childhood Love Lessonsâ⬠bell hooks claims that ââ¬Å"there is nothing that creates more confusion about love in the minds and hearts of children than unkind or cruel punishmentâ⬠(hooks 27). In other words punishment of any kind, let it be pinching, flicking or spanking will result in disorientation in a childââ¬â¢s mind. This statement is true to some people, false to others, but overall hooks tends to be bias in her argument. She doesnââ¬â¢t explore the different variations of physical punishment and how these punishments affect the childââ¬â¢s thought about love. There are many different types of punishment out there in this cruel world, but not all of them can disorientate a childââ¬â¢s mind or heart about love. Simple physical punishments; such as pinching, flicking, and spanking, are carried out on us at a very young age, and all throughout life. Our parents are here to discipline us, to teach us the difference of right and wrong. When we first misbehave, our parents might tell us to ââ¬Å"knock it offâ⬠or ââ¬Å"stopâ⬠and they may raise their voice when asserting these commands. We sometimes stop when told to, but sometimes we ignore their commands and keep misbehaving repeatedly. This is where physical punishment comes into play. A form of physical punishment would and will be carried out on us. At first it may be a simple punishment, but gradually the punishments intensify. Once a punishment has been carried out, many of us become cloaked in fear of punishment and from this fear we learn not to do that mistake again. Read more:à Persuasive Speech About Love Simple punishment is used for the good of children and to discipline them, ââ¬Å"Dr.à David Safir, father of five and grandfather of five, CNN asked him to talk to us about his views on spanking. He said he was spanked as a child, spanked his own children when necessary and believes the occasional use of physical punishment not abuse can be an effective tool for parentsâ⬠(Zeidler) If these simple punishments are executed out appropriately by the childââ¬â¢s parents, the child will be certain to remember why he/she was punished. These simple and effortless punishments will certainly not disorientate the childââ¬â¢s mind about love, instead it will discipline the child and help them in their future. Cruel and intense physical punishment do exist, these types of punishments may scar the child for life, and may even lead to behavior or personality change. For example, ââ¬Å"As one man bragged about the aggressive beatings he had received from his mother, sharing that ââ¬Ëthey had been good for him,ââ¬â¢ I interrupted and suggested that he might not be the misogynist women-hater he is today if he had not been brutally beaten by a women as a child (paragraph 8). These types cruel, harsh and brutal form of physical punishment will certainly cause confusion about love in a child mind. As the above example states ââ¬Å"he might not be the misogynist women-hater he is today if he had not been brutally beaten by a women as child. â⬠If this man was cared for and loved by his mom, then he certainly would have not been the misogynist he is now. He was confused and he never knew the true meaning of love, because all the overwhelming pain caused him to change. Millions of children across the world are brutally punished by their parents, siblings, family members and/or relatives. These children grow up to punish their children the same way they were punished and their children grow up to do the same and so on. These children and all the generations of children after them will be confused about love, their behaviors and personality are certain to change. Hooks fails to explain which types of punishment can cause confusion about love. Her entire argument is biased, she explains everything from her point of view and doesnââ¬â¢t put herself in others shoes. Her statement itself doesnââ¬â¢t make sense, saying that physical punishment will lead to the confusion about love in a childââ¬â¢s mind. Basically she is trying to imply that if I did something wrong and my parents were to physically punish me that would mean that they donââ¬â¢t love me anymore. Physical punishment if carried out in a appropriate manner will prevent the child from carrying out the mistake again. But if intense and brutal punishment is carried out on a child, the result can be devastating. The child will grow up filled with hatred, anger and resentment, leading to personality and behavior changes. A child will only be disorientated about love when they have been brutally punished by their parent and later imply that they love them by saying ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m doing this because I love youâ⬠(hooks 27) or ââ¬Å"It hurts me more than it hurts youâ⬠(hooks 27) In conclusion, Kids need to be taught right and wrong, but the presumption we need to punish them to teach them this is not supported by the science. Its not clear at all that punishment in any form is the answer, even though every culture uses punishment in some form. (Zeidler) A loving parent would want their child to know what is right and wrong, to do the right and not the wrong, and to succeed at this they might use simple forms of physical punishment. But an irresponsible and careless parent wouldnââ¬â¢t care about their child at all, in which they will carry out brutal forms of physical punishment leading to major changes of how that child views the world. Explaining and giving more detail about the different types of punishment, would have led hooks into writing a better article. Physical punishments can nurture or completely change a child, but it all depends how the parent chooses to use it. Punishment can exist in various ways even with love.

Use of Propaganda in George W Bushs War on Terror Essay -- essays res
On September 10th 2001 Gorge W Bush announces that the US was engaged in a ââ¬Å"War On Terrorâ⬠. In looking at how propaganda has been used during the ââ¬Å"War On Terrorâ⬠Adolph Hitlerââ¬â¢s assessment of how propaganda can be used to best effect is extremely relevant. Propaganda appeals to peoples emotions through its reliance on stereotypes and national myths. Propaganda is most effective when it limits the extent of information presented and repetition is essential. The propaganda campaign that has run in relation to the War on terror has effectively utilised all these tools and thus been extremely successful. Stereotypes, which are ideas that many people have about a thing or group that may be untrue or only partly true, play a role within propaganda tactics. An important part of the war on terror propaganda campaign has been breeding stereotypical values towards Muslims and Arabs. The attacks on September 11th have escalated the attention to the war on terrorism, through its massive media coverage throughout the world. "In the wake of the September 11th terror attacks, there is a dan...

A report on the Cultural Afternoon held at the IPBA’s auditorium
Last Thursday on the July 24th, 2003, a Cultural Afternoon was being held at the IPBA's auditorium. It was organised by the MTCP participants and the B. Ed. TESL cohort 1 students. The theme for the Cultural Afternoon is Unity In Diversity. Unity In Diversity is a poem written by the MLCP participant from Papua New Guinea. The afternoon was conducted by two of the B. Ed. TESL students. They conducted the event very well. After that, Mr. Mahmud from Turkey was called upon to recite a prayer. After he had finished reciting the prayer, the event continued with the first performance by the B. Ed. TESL students. They presented a compilation of the Malay Traditional Dance. The dance was choreographed beautifully and the dancers danced gracefully. The special thing about this cultural afternoon was the way the organiser changed the conductors. The next conductors were the participants from Tunisia and Gambia. The way they conducted the afternoon was very interesting. After they had introduced themselves, they called upon participants from Krygystan, Miss Ainur. She sang a song called Mahabbad, which means love. Even though the audience could not understand her, but the message of the song were well interpreted. Then, all the MTCP participants were welcomed to join the conductors on the stage to introduced themselves. All the participants were introducing themselves with different ways. Some of them made some jokes, holding their traditional flag and so on. There were 26 participants that day who has came from different countries such as Zimbabwe, Croatia, Tunisia, Gambia, Bosnia, Thailand and other countries. After that, Mr. Bernard from Bosnia presented his performance by singing a song using his own language. Followed by named and Ameir from Bosnia. They showed and explained about a poster of the Bosnian Movie, which had won oscars award 2000/2. The movie title is ââ¬ËNo Man's Land' has won the award for Best Foreign Language. After that, they sang a Bosnian folk song. After changing conductors once again, B. Ed. TESL students performed their Kung Fu performances. After the Kung Fu show, a participant from Turkey sang a wonderful song. The audiences gave her big claps because she had sang the song well even without the background music. All the audiences had paid full attention on the stage to see the traditional costumes show from the other countries. All the participants wore their own traditional costumes and did some explanations on the costumes. After watching the colourful fashion show, the audiences were very surprised to watch the Indian dance that was led by our B. Ed. TESL student, Danielli Devi. The dance was noisily merry with energetic dancers and famous Bollywood song played. After that, the Cultural Afternoon continued with the performances by the MTCP participants. The participants from Sri Lanka sang a song. The song also a love song. After that, the East Timur participant did a traditional dance. She wore her traditional costumes and a gong. She knocked the gong using some rhymes and then danced followed the rhyme. It was far different from other MTCP participant's performances. After that, a participant from Turkey also sang a love song. Another interesting performance was from the Thailand participants. They showed and taught us the right way in greeting. Their performance is quite useful for us. After that, the Cambodian participants danced as soon as their song was played. Next performance was from Gambia. He sang his national anthem. The audiences rose up to show respect. The most waiting performance was Para-para Sakura Dance. The B. ED. TESL students performed this dance. They danced gracefully with many astonishing steps. The dancers were very energetic and noisily merry with their red and pink costumes. All the audiences felt refresh after watching this energetic dance. Lastly, before the Cultural Afternoon ended, the participant from Papua New Guinea recited her poem entitled ââ¬ËUnity In Diversity'. She very well wrote the poem. The event ended as soon as the conductors declared it was closed.

Analysis Of Hillbilly Elegy A Memoir Of A Family And...
Every year, there are millions of people that suffer from mental illness, addiction, or both. Not only do the people who have a mental illness or addiction suffer, but so do their families, friends, and loved ones. Therefore, mental illness and addiction are two topics that can easily spark controversy when it comes to two areas of concern: blame and solutions. Many people have strong feelings when it comes to the institutions and processes surrounding mental illness and addiction. Ex-marine, Yale Law School Graduate, and hillbilly-at-heart J.D. Vance wrote a book titled Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis which includes parts his connection to addiction primarily through his mother and his personal view on theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Throughout the conclusion of the memoir, he makes his views on the existence of issues in the hillbilly community very prominent. For example, Vance directly states his views on the state of despair within the community of the hill people in this quote: These problems were not created by the government or corporations or anyone else. We created them, and only we can fix them. Another quote that showcases this ideology is I don t know what the answer is, precisely, but I know it starts when we stop blaming Obama or Bush or faceless companies and ask ourselves what we can do to make things better. The fact that Vance consistently reiterates this idea in the conclusion shows that there is an extremely likely chance that Vance strongly believes that issues such as addiction and mental illness and the processes in which they develop are not the result of wrong-doings of the government, but the self-inflicted consequences of a, not only hillbilly, but human tradition of making bad choices. However, direct statements in the conclusion is not the only way that Vance insinuates this belief. Even though Vance directly states his stance in the conclusion, throughout the entirety of the memoir, he uses some of the tools of rhetoric, the art of persuasion, to try to persuade his audience to agree with him. One rhetoric tool that he uses very well is issue control. The three sub-tools of issue control are blame, values, and choice; all of which Vance uses. How Are Coral Reefs Formed
Reefs are centers of biodiversity, where youll find many types of fish,à invertebrates and other marine life. But did you know that coral reefs are also alive? What Are Coral Reefs? Before learning how reefs form, its helpful to define a reef.à Acoral reef is made up of animals called stony corals. The stony corals are made up of tiny, soft colonial organisms called polyps. Polyps look a lot like a sea anemone, as they are related to these animals. They are invertebrates in the Cnidariaà phylum. In stony corals, the polyp sits within a calyx, or cup that it excretes. This calyx is made of limestone, also known as calcium carbonate. The polyps are interconnected to form a mass of living tissue over the limestone skeleton.à This limestone is why these corals are called stony corals.à How Do Reefs Form? As the polyps live, reproduce, and die, they leave their skeletons behind.à A coral reef is built up by layers of these skeletons covered by living polyps. The polyps reproduce either through fragmentation (when a piece breaks off and new polyps form) or sexual reproduction through spawning. Aà reef ecosystemà may be made up of many species of corals.à Healthy reefs are typically colorful, highly biodiverse areas made up of a mishmash of corals and the species that inhabit them, such as fish,à sea turtles, and invertebrates such asà sponges, shrimp, lobsters,à crabs, andà seahorses.à Soft corals, likeà sea fans, may be found within a coral reef ecosystem, but doà not build reefs themselves.à The corals on a reef are further cemented together by organisms like coralline algae, and physical processes like waves washing sand into spaces in the reef.à Zooxanthellae In addition to the animals living on and in reefs, the corals themselves host zooxanthellae. Zooxanthellae are single-celled dinoflagellates that conductà photosynthesis. The zooxanthellae use the waste products of the coral during photosynthesis, and the coral can use the nutrients provided by the zooxanthellae during photosynthesis. Most reef-building corals are located in shallow water where they have plenty of access to the sunlight needed for photosynthesis. The presence of the zooxanthellae helps the reef to thrive and become larger. Some coral reefs are very large. Theà Great Barrier Reef, which stretches more than 1,400 miles off the coast of Australia, is the worlds largest reef. 3 Types of Coral Reefs Fringing reefs: These reefsà grow close to the coast in shallow waters.Barrier reefs: Barrier reefs, like the Great Barrier Reef, are large, continuous reefs. They are separated from land by a lagoon.Atolls:à Atolls are ring-shaped and located near the sea surface. They get their shape from growing on top of underwater islands or inactive volcanoes. Threats to Reefs An important part of coral reefs is their calcium carbonate skeleton.à If you follow ocean issues, you know that animals with calcium carbonate skeletons are under stress from ocean acidificationà Ocean acidification causes a lowering of the oceans pH, and this makes it difficult for corals and other animals that have calcium carbonate skeletons. Other threats to reefs include pollution from coastal areas, which can affect reef health, coral bleaching due to warming waters, and damage to corals due to construction and tourism. Plot Development in Aldous Huxleys Brave New World Essay...
In the beginning of Aldous Huxleyââ¬â¢s Brave New World, set in the year 2450, the reader is educated on the society in which the novelââ¬â¢s premise takes place, through a tour given by the hatchery director for a group of students. It introduces the basis of the society, artificial procreation, while also establishing the societal hierarchy that they hold so dear. It also demonstrates the fact that Alphas, members of the highest caste, hold prestigious positions of honor, while Epsilons, members of the lowest caste, are left to hold the worldââ¬â¢s unwanted work. They show how each and every test tube human is conditioned to be content in the world they live in, no matter the caste. Through this scene, Huxley sets up the rulingâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦When Lenina and Fanny are discussing hypnopà ¦dic phrases, a particular one, ââ¬Å"Ending is better than mending, ending is better than mendingâ⬠(p. 50) comes up. This phrase, repeated ad nauseam, uses the art o f euphemism to command people to perform societyââ¬â¢s bidding. This statement is stating that it is better to end a piece of clothing, than mending it. In this case, ending means that people will be in the market to buy a replacement for what they chose to end, and thus will be supporting the economy in this pursuit. On top of that, as a direct result of Bokanovskyââ¬â¢s Process, the creation of humans has fallen into line with the economic principles of supply and demand. For example, when the Hatchery Director is giving a tour to students, the reader is enlightened by what this process entails: â⬠¦a bokanovskied egg will proliferate, will divide. From eight to ninety-six buds, and every bud will grow into a perfectly formed embryo and every embryo into a full-sized adult. Making ninety-six human beings grow where only one grew beforeâ⬠¦ (p. 6) The process shows that humans have become a commodity in the society of the Brave New World. Let them become part of the team and show them what their Job is. Help them to get settled in their new job with the help of trainings or with other qualified workers. ln order for employees to stay motivated, competitive and creative, a company has to develop their talents. This can for example be done with advanced trainings to keep them updated. One of the most important parts of talent management is motivating your workers. It has been shown, that motivated and enthusiastic employees work to the best of the company. A company can only stay competitive with motivated workers you see themselves as part of the decision management team. Furthermore, a company should want to retain their talents. The entire selection process is highly costly since a firm invests in advertisement, the selections process, the Job training etc. Also, the employees gained an inside view of the company and its organizational structure. These information can be of high value to competitors in the struggle for market share and competitiveness. Reasons Why Talent Management Matters 1) Skill Shortages: The labour shortage caused tight labour market with requiring dynamic and complex leadership capabilities. According to McKinsey Report (2005), the expectation for the next 1 5 years is: 2) Genarational Changes: Because of the changing in demographic composition of the workforce, the need of managing talent increased. Example: Australia (one of the countries which are ageing rapidly) In the last 40 years, the average of life of working shortened Now, older workers are working longer than the past. They retire at 55, 60 istribution of age of Australia for the year 2000 and 2025 (the expectation) is: 3) Business Success: Talent management provides competitive advantage where financial capital is enough It also provides better results for shareholders. According to McKinsey Report 2005 and 2006, 86% of global business executives believe that talent is the greatest contributor to their companys profits, yet 54% of senior managers do not spend sufficient high quality time on talent management. The Process of Talent Management Talent management starts with the business strategy and what it signifes in terms of he talented people required by the organization. This provides the basis for talent planning. Ultimately, the aim is to develop and maintain a pool of talented people. We used to understand the process of talent management traditionally which is consisted of linear steps. The steps are: 1 . Decide what positions to fill, through Job analysis, personnel planning and forecasting. 2. Build a pool of Job candidates, by recruiting internal or external candidates. 3. Have candidates complete application forms and perhaps undergo initial screening interviews. 4. Use selection tools like ests, interviews, background checks and physical exams to current candidates. 5. Decide to whom to make an offer. 6. Orien, train and develop employees to provide them with the competencies they need to do their Jobs. 7. Appraise employees to asses how theyre doing 8. Reward and compensate employees to maintain their motivation. This linear form clearly illustrates the main phases of the process however it gives us a impression that phases necessarily follows. In fact that is not the case it is possible for us to use the information we have gathered in one phase on another previous phase. Today he process of talent management takes the form of a bundle of interrelated processes, as shown in the fgure below. This enables us to see the complex relations between phases. This is done through the talent pipeline, which consists of the processes of resourcing, retention planning, succession and career planning and learning and development (especially leadership and management development) that maintain the flow of talent needed by the organization. Its elements are described below. Talent Planning:Talent planning is the process of establishing how many and what sort of talented people are needed now and in the future. It is a sub-set of workforce planning, as described in Chapter 18, and uses the same techniques. It leads to the development of policies for attracting and retaining talent and the determination of future requirements as monitored by talent audits. It also infuences the development of the roles talented people carry out. Resourcing:The outcomes of talent planning are programmes for obtaining people from within and outside the organization (internal and external resourcing). They involve the implementation of policies for Programmes:These policies and programmes describe the approach to ensuring that he organization gets and keeps the talent it needs. Attraction policies infuence programmes for external resourcing. Retention policies are designed to ensure that people remain as engaged and committed members of the organization. Line managers can be asked to carry out separate risk analyses for any key staff to assess the likelihood of their leaving so that steps can be taken to encourage them to stay. The outcome of these policies is a talent flow that creates and maintains the talent pool. Talent Audit:A talent audit identifes those with potential, often through a performance management assessment. It provides the basis for career planning and development ensuring that talented people have the sequence of experience supplemented by coaching, mentoring and learning programmes that will equip them for carrying out more demanding roles in the future. Talent audits can also be used to indicate the possible danger of talented people leaving (risk analysis) and what action may need to be taken to retain them. Role Development:Talent management is concerned with the roles people carry out. This involves role development ensuring that roles provide the responsibility, challenge and autonomy equired to create role engagement and motivation. It also means taking steps to ensure that people have the opportunity and are given the encouragement to learn and develop in their roles. Talent management policies focus on role fexibility giving people the chance to expand their roles by making better and extended use of their talents. Talent Relationship Management:Talent relationship management is about building effective relationships with people in their roles. Talent management free essay sample The process of finding and hiring the best-qualified candidate from inside or outside of an organization to perform specified task in a timely and cost effective manner is termed as recruitment. HR mangers have to be very careful in this selection and recruitment process. One wrong decision can bring about huge financial and administrative wrongdoings in the organization. There are many process of recruiting depending on the type of organizations. Here, I give my own thoughts on different steps of recruitment and selection. Figure above shows the generic view of the recruitment process. Below we shall discuss in detail about each step. Anticipate the need This falls under the workforce planning. HR manager has to first anticipate the need based on the shortage or surplus of the employees. Only after the clear analysis of the need of the staff can the HR department teams go ahead with other steps. This is the most significant step in my view as it drives the rest of the processes. We will write a custom essay sample on Talent management or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page 1. 2 Specify the job After anticipating the need, the next step for the HR team is to provide the specification of the job. Before providing any specification, HR team has to do thorough research about the task to be performed by the new comer. This not only helps them to choose quality employees but also make their job easier by omitting not desired resumes. 1. 3 Develop the pool Making specification of the Job is not enough. HR team has to reach to its targeted customer after the preparation of the job description. This can be done via two ways i. e. internal and external sources. Internal sources include job posting, talent inventory, promotion and transfer. External sources include walk-in, advertisements, employee referrals, employment agencies, educational institutions, professional associations and job fairs. 1. 4 Assess the candidates After developing the pool of the interested candidates, next step is to assess the candidates. Assessment can be done in many stages. First step can be through resume selection. Then interview can be conducted to test the candidatesââ¬â¢ knowledge on whatever they mentioned in the CV. In specific job profile skills can be tested through on hand experience. 1. 5 Close the deal After assessing the candidates through rigorous process framed by the HR team, next step is to close the deal. Salary negotiation helps HR manager to understand the cost of the hire compared to the value they will be adding to the companies. Deal can be closed considering mutual benefits. 1. 6 Integrate the new comer After the deal is closed, the next step for the company is to integrate the new comer. This has to be done via assigning mentor for him/her. Immersion training can be provided to the new hires so that they can perform the job well and get used to of the new work environment. 1. 7 Audit and review Final stage in the recruitment and selection process is to audit and review the performance of the new comer and the decision of hiring him/her. This helps in future recruitment and also helps the new hire if he/ she need any help in his/her professional growth. Talent Management Talent management refers to the anticipation of required human capital for the organization at the time then planning and implementing the plan to meet those organizational aims and objectives. The main objectives of talent management are: Identify the gap between the talent required and the existing talent to meet organizational goals. Facilitate and support management to implement accurate hiring and promotion decisions. Develop the talent to face the transition period and the rapid changes that occur in todayââ¬â¢s business world. Also helps in the promotion. Develop a succession and retention plan to sustain organizational excellence. Strategic perspective of talent management can be divided into various parts as described below. 1. Process: use people management processes to optimise development and deployment of talent. 2. Cultural: Managing talent in the organization has to come with a default belief that talent is most critical factor for success. 3. Competitive: Firmââ¬â¢s competition with external sources and the competition within the organization is one thing. However, in certain cases not involving talents for any kind of competition and letting them free to be creative results to be a boon. Keep talent away from the competition. 4.
